The Scripted Birth: From Solo Doula to Agency

“It’s all my husband’s fault.”

That’s how this new chapter of The Scripted Birth LLC began. He’s the one who saw my passion for birth and kept encouraging me to become a doula. At first, I thought I’d only pursue childbirth education, but the certification package that included both childbirth education and doula training was too good to pass up.

I hit the ground running in February of this year and signed on my very first clients almost immediately. It was exhilarating—proof that God had opened a door I was meant to walk through.

Then, in late April, a pregnancy test turned positive. My first thought was, What am I supposed to do with this business now?

Fast forward, and the answer became clear: I wasn’t meant to stop. I was meant to grow. I am excited (and admittedly a little nervous) to share that The Scripted Birth is officially a doula agency.

What Is a Doula Agency?

A doula agency is a collective of doulas working together under one name and mission. Instead of just one doula taking clients, an agency allows multiple doulas to serve families while sharing resources, training, and support.

For our clients, this means:

  • More availability: No more worrying if one doula’s calendar is full—you’ll have access to a team.
  • Personalized matches: Every family is unique. With a team of doulas, you’ll be paired with someone whose personality, style, and experience are the best fit for your birth journey.
  • Backup support: Life is unpredictable, but you won’t have to stress. If your doula can’t make it for any reason, another trained doula from our agency will step in seamlessly.
  • Consistency of care: Because all of our doulas are hired under The Scripted Birth’s values and vision, you’ll receive the same level of encouragement, education, and support no matter who you work with.

Why This Move Matters

When I first launched The Scripted Birth, I thought I’d simply be serving as a solo doula and childbirth educator. But God had bigger plans. This transition means we’ll be able to bless more families, empower more women to embrace birth with confidence, and provide opportunities for other doulas to thrive within a supportive team.

I won’t lie—imposter syndrome has been loud. I’ve caught myself thinking, Who am I to do this? But in every step, I’m reminded that this isn’t about me. My prayer is that this pivot glorifies the Lord, blesses the families we serve, and uplifts the doulas who join our agency.

This is it—no turning back. The Scripted Birth is stepping into a new season, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the support, encouragement, and prayers that have carried me here.
