I’m Melinda, founder of The Scripted Birth LLC, and I grew up in a small town in Texas. I married my husband in 2013 and was soon expecting our first baby. We stayed in Texas for the birth but soon after moved to East Tennessee where my grandfather was born and raised.
We now have four children with one on the way, due late 2025, plus one in heaven. It wasn’t until I had my first home birth with baby number three in 2021 that birthwork began to interest me. I began noticing two things: women are treated like they can’t give birth and the birth world is being muddled with new age terminology that contradicts God’s word.
As a devoted follower of Jesus Christ I enrolled in The Biblical Birth School in the fall of 2024 and became a certified childbirth educator in early 2025. I am also pursuing my doula training this year with the same school.

When I’m not busy doing birth work you can find me baking bread, homeschooling, and being with my family on our little homestead in Seymour, TN.
While I began The Scripted Birth LLC as a solo venture it no longer is. With the greatest news of expecting baby #5 I began to pray for what to do while I wouldn’t be able attend births in person. The Lord lead me to adopting an agency model.
